Create your Welco account

Three short groups: your business, you and your alerts. It takes about five minutes, and you can have your EIN and website ready to speed it up.

Your business

Step 1 of 3

Your business

Mobile networks ask us to confirm every business that sends texts. Use the details on your tax records.

Only if it differs from the legal name.

Used only to verify your business.

About you

Step 2 of 3

About you

The person we verify with and call. Free email accounts can't be used.

US or Canada mobile.

Your alerts

Step 3 of 3

Your alerts

Helps us set up your account and pick the right plan with you on the call.

Next, you book a short intro call.

What happens after you sign up

Four steps take you from this form to your first alert text. Your own part is the call and about 15 minutes of setup.

  1. Book your intro call

Right after the form, pick a time for a short call. We confirm what your systems send, who should get alerts and which plan fits.

  2. We verify your business and a card

We check your details against public records, the way mobile networks ask every sender to be checked. Your card is verified, not charged, for the 7-day trial.

  3. You invite your staff, and each person joins

Send each person an invite by email. They join with their own phone, tick the box themselves and reply YES to one text. See the example join page.

  4. Your first alert arrives as a text

Point your alert email at your Welco address and approve the address it sends from. The next alarm lands on the on-call phone. See the step-by-step overview.

What to have ready before you sign up

Mobile networks expect every business that texts to be vetted, so the form asks for these details. Having them to hand keeps it to a few minutes.

Not sure your system will work?

Any system that emails an alert can send it to a phone through Welco. Tell us which one you run.

What you get from day one

  • Alarms on the right phone

The person on call gets one short text with the site, the problem and the time.

  • Nothing to install

No agent, plug-in, modem or SIM. Your system keeps sending the email it sends today.

  • No app for your staff

Alerts land in the normal messages app on any mobile phone, after one YES reply.

  • No charge during the trial

We verify a card, but the 7-day trial and its 15 message credits cost nothing. We email you before any billing.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I sign up with a Gmail or Outlook.com address?

Free mailboxes are how most fake accounts and scammers sign up. A work email on your company's own domain helps us confirm you are the business you say you are. We also check that the domain receives mail.

Why do I need an intro call?

Every new account starts with one short call. We confirm what your systems send and who should get alerts, and we help you pick a plan. It also keeps Welco free of fake sign-ups, which protects the numbers your alerts use.

Why do you ask for our EIN or Business Number?

Mobile networks require every business that sends texts to be verified, the same way 10DLC and toll-free rules work. Your tax ID lets us match your business to public records. We use it only for verification.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

Yes, for verification. It keeps out fake accounts that try to use texting services for scams. Nothing is charged for 7 days, we email you before any billing, and your card is charged only after you approve a plan. See how the free trial works.

Is the SMS consent box on the form required?

No. It is unchecked and optional. You can create an account without ticking it. It only asks whether you, the person signing up, want alert texts at the number you entered.

What does the alerts-only confirmation on the form mean?

Before you submit, you confirm that Welco will text only your own staff, and only after each one opts in. It is required, because carriers vet every sender for exactly this. Sending marketing or texting customers breaks our rules and leads to written warnings.

Who can I invite to get alerts?

Your own staff, such as operators, technicians and admins who look after the system. Welco is for alerts only, so you can't invite customers or the public. Our acceptable use policy lists what is not allowed.
