SMS alert integrations for the systems you already run

SMS alert integrations let the person on call read a lift station, server or walk-in freezer alarm as one short text. Welco works from the alert email your system already sends, so no system needs its own plug-in. Pick yours below for its menus, a real example and routing tips.

Works by email with

  • Ignition

  • 3CX

An alert email from powerchute@itops.example.com arrives. The Welco rule “Power alerts go to IT on call, any hour” trims it, and IT on-call phone gets one text: “Welco: [IT Closet B] UPS on battery, 14 min runtime left at 6:12 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.”

IT on-call phone received: Welco: [IT Closet B] UPS on battery, 14 min runtime left at 6:12 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.

Animation: an alert email, "PowerChute: UPS On Battery", arrives at Welco and becomes one text to the it on-call phone: "Welco: [IT Closet B] UPS on battery, 14 min runtime left at 6:12 PM. Reply STOP to opt out."

What connecting a system gets you

  • A person sees the alarm

The alert stops waiting in an inbox. It lands on the phone of whoever is covering tonight.

  • Keep the system you trust

No new hardware, no agent and no gateway account. Your SCADA, monitor or BMS keeps doing its job.

  • One setup idea everywhere

Every guide below is the same move: send the alert email to one more address.

  • Today's emails keep flowing

Current recipients get exactly what they get now. Welco is one more name on the list.

One town, four systems, one night

A small town runs a sewer SCADA, a city hall BAS and a server room. One Welco account sends each alert to the right person, as towns and counties set it up.

  1. City hall's building system emails a boiler alarm

ALARM: Boiler 1 lockout, City Hall mechanical room
  2. The facilities tech on call gets it

Welco: [City Hall] Boiler 1 lockout at 11:40 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.
  3. The SCADA emails a lift station alarm

HIGH LEVEL: Elm St lift station wet well 7.8 ft
  4. A sender rule picks the standby operator

Mail from the SCADA server goes to the utilities phone. Mail from the BAS never does.

  5. The operator replies from the truck

    Heading to Elm St now
  6. The reply reaches the SCADA alarm mailbox

Welco emails each reply to the alert's sender, so the morning shift can read it.

Reply from the standby phone: Heading to Elm St now

Times are an example. Text delivery depends on mobile networks. A reply never acknowledges the alarm inside the system that raised it.

How SMS alert integrations work in 3 steps

Each guide below follows these steps, with the real menu names for that system. Whoever can edit the system's alert settings can do it, usually in 15 to 30 minutes.

  1. Approve the system's sending address

Add the address the system sends from to your sender allow list. Mail from anywhere else is refused, so nobody outside can text your staff.

  2. Point its alert email at your Welco address

Find the system's email or notification setting and add your Welco address as a recipient. Old recipients stay if you still want the emails.

  3. Send a test alarm

Press the system's test button, then watch the Welco feed. Use dry-run mode if phones shouldn't buzz yet.

Alerts from different systems, as texts

Each text keeps the site, the problem and the time. Long footers and headers stay in the email.

  • SCADA: Welco: [Elm St LS] Wet well HIGH 7.8 ft, pump 2 failed to start at 1:15 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • IT: Welco: [core-fw-01] Firewall not answering ping since 4:02 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Building: Welco: [Annex] Door 14 forced open at 10:51 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Voicemail: Welco: Urgent line voicemail from (555) 014-2290, 0:41. Tap to listen: welco.ai/v/7Hq2. Reply STOP to opt out.

Getting alerts to phones, then and now

The old ways

  • A paging module or plug-in per system, each with its own setup and upkeep.
  • A carrier address like 5551234567@txt.att.net. AT&T ended its email-to-text gateway on June 17, 2025, per AT&T's support article.
  • A voice dialer on a phone line that nobody has tested in years.
  • Alerts in a shared inbox that someone checks in the morning.

With Welco

  • One email address that works for every system you run.
  • Verified alert numbers instead of carrier gateways. The carrier shutdown guide covers every network.
  • Rules pick the right phone by sender, words and time of day.
  • Plans priced by message credits, with no fee per person.

Features that help on every integration

Whatever the system, these four settings do most of the work.

Frequently asked questions

Is my system supported if it isn't in this directory?

If it can send an email, yes. Point its alert email at your Welco address and approve the address it sends from. The guide for any system that sends email shows how to find that setting on panels, apps and servers.

Why are some systems marked as a setup guide?

Those guides cover systems we haven't yet seen in customer traffic. Any system that can send an email works with Welco, and each guide shows where that system's email setting lives. The steps match every other system.

Do I need to install anything on the SCADA or monitoring server?

No. Nothing goes on your servers, and nothing reaches into your control network. You change one email address in the system's alert settings. See how Welco handles each alert email after it arrives.

Can one Welco address take alerts from several systems?

Yes. One address can take email from every approved system. For tidier rules, give each source its own address, such as yourteam+boilers@welco.ai, and set matching rules for each one.

What will staff see, and do they need an app?

They see a normal text that starts with Welco: and names the site, the problem and the time. No app is needed. Voicemail and PDFs arrive as a short private link they tap to open.

Will my old carrier email-to-text address keep working?

Probably not for long. AT&T ended email-to-text on June 17, 2025. Verizon expects to finish its shutdown by March 31, 2027, per Verizon's notice. Swap the carrier address for your Welco address now.

Does each system or person cost extra?

No. Plans have no per-user fees and no charge per connected system. You pay for message credits with no overage, and a short alert uses one. Try any system on the 7-day free trial with 15 credits, then approve a plan on pricing before your card is charged.
