SMS delivery reports that explain every alert text in plain words
SMS delivery reports tell you what became of each alert text. When one never arrives, you read the reason in one line instead of guessing. Each alert email and each text sits in your Welco feed. A phone that was switched off, a landline or a STOP reply is spelled out in plain words.

What you no longer have to guess
Where the alert got stuck
Check whether the email reached Welco, which rule caught it and what happened on each phone.
A reason with a fix
A dead phone, a wrong digit or a STOP reply each gets its own label and its own next step.
Records for the inspector
Export the feed to a CSV file listing each email, each text and the result on every phone.
Credits back on rejected texts
If a text is rejected at the moment of sending, its message credit is refunded and our support team is notified.
What each delivery result tells you
Each line in the feed covers one email and the texts it turned into. Reports cover every text sent by Welco's alert features.
Delivered
- What it means
- The mobile network, Bell or Telus for example, returned a receipt confirming delivery to the phone.
- What to do next
- Nothing. If the person still missed it, check their phone's Do Not Disturb hours.
Phone off
- What it means
- The network reported the phone was switched off or out of coverage.
- What to do next
- Ask them to keep the on-call phone charged and on, especially on rural highways.
Number not recognized
- What it means
- The number doesn't exist or was entered wrong.
- What to do next
- Correct the digits, or ask for their current cellphone number.
Landline
- What it means
- The number can't receive texts.
- What to do next
- Switch to a cellphone. Read why a landline can't get alerts.
Replied STOP
- What it means
- The person opted out, and the network blocks texts until they send START.
- What to do next
- Ask them to text START to your alert number.
Dropped or blocked
- What it means
- The email hit a drop rule or came from an unapproved sender, for example
Blocked: sender not in allowlist. - What to do next
- Approve the sender or change the rule if that alert should have gone out.
A real example: the walk-in alarm that went unseen
At a grocery store in Manitoba, a walk-in cooler logger emailed at 12:52 a.m. The night manager's phone stayed silent, and the report showed why.
Alert email from alarms@logger.example.com, subject “Alarm: Walk-in 3 High Temperature”. Welco trims it to one text of 80 characters: “Welco: [Walk-in 3] Temp 8C, above 4C limit at 12:52 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Text received: Welco: [Walk-in 3] Temp 8C, above 4C limit at 12:52 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.
Characters206801 credit
A few weeks before, the manager had replied STOP by accident while clearing texts. The report said so in a single line. One START text later, that phone was getting alerts again.

Track down a missing alert in 3 steps
Most questions about a silent phone get answered in the feed, with no support ticket needed.
Look up the email in the feed
The feed lists every email Welco receives, including the dropped and refused ones. If it's missing, the problem sits before Welco, usually a mail setting or an unapproved forwarding address.
Check the result for each phone
Read the label on the phone that stayed silent. A new phone that hasn't had an alert yet, or someone who just switched carriers, shows up here first.
Fix it, then test
Fix the number, approve the sender or ask for a START text. Then fire a test alarm and watch its result arrive.
Do texts that fail or get blocked use credits?
Filtered texts show up as well
Mobile networks sometimes filter texts they take for spam. The report flags a blocked text, and what gets alert texts blocked covers the usual reasons.
Dropped emails are free
An email dropped by a rule or refused from an unknown sender uses no credits.
Undelivered texts still count
A text uses its credits once it's passed to the mobile network, even if the network can't deliver it. Our delivery rates disclosure explains why.
Refused senders, named
Most blocked emails come down to approved senders. The feed shows the address that was refused.
Check before you go live
Test mode shows what a new setup would send. Once you're live, the report confirms each phone.
